Itinerary

  • Day 1 ~Tokyo
Arrive in Tokyo. Transfer from airport to hotel on your own. After check in please take a rest or enjoy exploring near your hotel.
  • Day 2 ~Tokyo
We begin the day by visiting the Imperial Palace East Gardens, which are a part of the inner place area and are open to the public.  In the Japanese constitutional monarchy, the emperor does not have any political power, however the emperor is the symbol of the State, of the unity of the people, and undertakes official and public duties.  After stopping by the emperor’s family residence we move on to Asakusa area, which is famous for the Senso-ji, a Buddhist temple, and Nakamise shopping street arcade.  While NEW Tokyo is known to be the most populated and high tech advanced metropolitan city, you can see the OLD Tokyo in the Asakusa area. We will have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will transfer to Shibuya Crossing, what is known-to-be the busiest intersection in the world.  It is like a giant beating heart, sending people in all directions.  At peak times there is said to be over 1000 people who cross at a time, coming from all directions at once yet still managing to dodge each other with a practiced, nonchalant agility.  Then, we will visit the extreme calm and serene Meiji Jingu Shrine where there are 700,000 square meters of forest existing in the heart of Tokyo, bristling with skyscrapers. You will experience extreme contrast of "OLD & NEW "and "MODERN & TRADITIONAL" as they co-exist in Tokyo.
At Night, our Gay English speaking assistant will show you the biggest gay district called “Shinjuku Nichome”.  There are more than 300 gay bars in this area, and our assistant will take you to Japanese sake gay bar and Whiskey gay bar.
  • Day 3 ~Tokyo
Discover your Tokyo where you can find anything from tasty street foods to elegant gourmet foods, from high fashion at Ginza to popular teens fashion at Takeshita street, as well as countless of cultural sites.
  • Day 4 ~Yamagata - Ginzan Onsen
After checking out, we go to the JR train station Midori no Madoguchi, and activate your JR Pass. It takes 2 hours 40 min to travel by Shinkansen bullet train to Yamagata. Meet our tour guide at the station, and drive to Yamadera – a scenic temple located in the mountains northeast of Yamagata City. The temple grounds extend high up a steep mountainside, from there we see great views down onto the valley. The temple was founded over a thousand years ago in 860 as a temple of the Tendai sect under the official name Risshakuji. Its popular name, Yamadera, literally means "mountain temple" in Japanese. After lunch, drive to Tendo city which is very famous for production of Japanese chess pieces. The tour guide will also bring you to fruit picking between June to November. Today’s final destination is a secluded hot spring town nestled in the mountains of Yamagata prefecture. The area originally developed around a silver mine; however, these days it is better known as one of Japan's prettiest onsen towns with historic hotels lined up along the river.
Evening: After checking in, enjoy the hot springs and delicious meal.
  • Day 5 ~Ginzan Onsen
    Relax in this onsen area
  • Day 6 ~Ginzan Onsen - Nyuto Onsen
After checking out, we send your big baggage to the hotel in Tokyo, because you will have an adventure riding the local trains from Ginzan Onsen. Hotel staff will assist you for baggage logistics. After a 2 hours & 30 min ride by local train ride by yourself, you will arrive at Lake Tazawa station, then take a pubic bus about 45 min. The name Nyuto Onsen means "nipple hot spring" and comes from the suggestive shape of nearby Mount Nyuto rather than the milky/cloudy appearance of the area’s hot spring water.
Evening: Check in ryokan, and experience milky hot springs
  • Day 7 ~Nyuto Onsen - Hanamaki Onsen
Today is also an adventure day. After checking out, we take the Shinkansen bullet train from Lake Tazawa station to Morioka station, then take a local train to Hamanaki station. At Hanamaki, please try Wanko Soba for lunch. Wanko Soba is a style of Japanese soba noodles originating from Iwate prefecture in Japan, particularly Hanamaki. It consists of a small serving of soba noodles in small bowls. In this soba experience, you quickly eat your soba noodles and get your bowl immediately refilled in repetition. After finishing lunch, take a taxi to the hotel. (Around JPY 3,000/one way)
Evening: Check in ryokan, and enjoy different hot springs.
  • Day 8 ~Back to Tokyo via Hiraizumi
After checking out, please meet our tour guide in the lobby. Transfer by a private car to Hiraizumi area. During the Heian period, the Fujiwara were the most powerful clan in Japan. In 1105, Hiraizumi was chosen as the seat of the "Northern branch" of the Fujiwara family. The city steadily grew in cultural sophistication and political power, so that it even came to rival Kyoto, the national capital. This area is recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site. We will visit several temples such as Chusonji, Motsuji, and we will experience Zen Meditation. After we finish sightseeing, you will be transferred to the nearest JR station. Then, we take a local train and the Shinkansen bullet train to Tokyo. Check into the hotel and receive your baggage, the take some time to relax.
Evening: Check in hotel, receive your baggage and relax.
  • Day 9 ~Tokyo
This is the last day in Japan. You are able to choose what you would like to do. Shopping, day trip to suburb city such as Kamakura using JR pass is a good idea too.
  • Day 10 ~Tour ended
Transfer from hotel to airport, or extend stay in Tokyo or other city.
